Something to Miss

Drifting between a present-day phone conversation and vivid fragments of a relationship they once shared, two former partners reconnect after time apart. Reflecting on the small, beautiful details that once held them together, one of them opens up more honestly than they ever have before. The film captures the raw emotion of looking back, and the quiet sadness of realizing how much of yourself you left unseen.

Director’s Statement
I think I'm really drawn to work that feels intimate and real. Stories about relationships between people, and relationships with yourself. This project started without any intention of becoming a film, but more so me exploring those ideas myself. Somewhere in that process it turned into a short film that reflects on love and loss and things left unsaid. We made the film with a small, lean crew and the mindset of being open to what happens in front of us. I think that allowed us to capture a lot of these moments in an honest and intimate way. As my first narrative film, this project showed me that I want to keep exploring ideas that feel like they come from something real, that have a small piece of me within them.
