Taxi Taxi

TAXI TAXI follows four taxi drivers as they navigate memories of exile, imprisonment, and life on the streets. Their taxis become moving sanctuaries, half home, half confessional, drifting through a city still haunted by the past. Athens emerges as a landscape of resilience, each turn of the wheel a quiet act of survival.

Director’s Statement
When I moved to Athens in 2023, I didn’t know many people, and the city was lonely. But as I started to discover more of the city, mostly in the back seats of taxis, I began to find a unique connection to the drivers.

I’ve always been drawn to men who hide vulnerability with silence, but if you really pay attention, something deeper exists. I saw many lives behind the eyes of these drivers, and I guess that’s how I started with TAXI TAXI.

This film is my way of seeing them, of listening, and maybe, hopefully, a pursuit of understanding myself better - as both a man and someone who is seeking connection in a world that feels increasingly disconnected.
